In short
Brand identity in Nigeria can cost ₦50,000 or ₦5,000,000 — and both can be right. Here is what actually drives the price, what you get at each level, and how to avoid paying twice.
The short answer
A brand identity in Nigeria can cost anywhere from about ₦50,000 to over ₦5,000,000. That range is not a dodge — it is honest. "Brand identity" covers everything from a single logo file to a complete system of strategy, visuals, voice and guidelines that a whole company runs on. What you should pay depends on what you actually need, and this guide will help you work that out before you spend a naira.
What a brand identity actually includes
Part of the confusion is that people use "logo" and "brand identity" to mean the same thing. They are not the same thing.
A logo is one mark. A brand identity is the full system around it:
- Strategy — who you are for, what you stand for, how you are different, and the words you use to say it.
- The visual system — logo and its variations, colours, fonts, imagery style and graphic elements.
- The voice — how the brand sounds in writing, from your website to your WhatsApp replies.
- The guideline — the document that keeps every future designer, printer and social media manager consistent.
- The assets — templates, stationery, social kits and mockups that let you actually use the system.
When someone quotes you ₦50,000 and someone else quotes ₦2,000,000, they are usually quoting for different parts of this list.
What each budget level typically gets you
These are typical market ranges in Nigeria today. Individual quotes vary, but the pattern holds:
| Budget | Who does it | What you usually get |
|---|---|---|
| ₦0 – ₦50,000 | DIY tools and AI generators | A logo file, fast. No strategy, no system, nothing your competitor cannot generate too. |
| ₦50,000 – ₦300,000 | A freelance designer | A decent logo, maybe a colour palette. Rarely a guideline, so consistency is still on you. |
| ₦300,000 – ₦1,000,000 | An experienced designer or small team | A stronger visual identity with some brand assets. Strategy is usually light. |
| ₦500,000 – ₦5,000,000+ | A brand studio | The full system: strategy, identity, voice, guideline and assets, built to grow with the business. |
None of these is automatically wrong. A three-month-old side business and a company preparing to raise money do not need the same thing.
What actually drives the price
When two studios quote very different numbers for "the same" job, the difference is almost always one of these:
- Strategy depth. A logo drawn in a weekend costs less than an identity built on audience research, competitor review and positioning. The strategy is what makes the design decisions defensible.
- Scope of deliverables. A logo alone is one price. A logo plus stationery, social templates, packaging, signage and a brand guideline is another. Count the deliverables, not the word "branding".
- Number of directions and revisions. Three logo directions with structured refinement rounds cost more than one take-it-or-leave-it design — and are usually worth it.
- Who does the work. A senior team that has shipped identities across industries charges more than a solo beginner, and you are paying for the mistakes they have already made on someone else's budget.
- Timeline. A two-week turnaround costs more than a six-week one. Rush fees are real.
The hidden cost of going cheap
The most expensive brand identity is the one you pay for twice.
We regularly meet founders who bought a cheap logo, then paid again for a website that did not match it, again for social templates that matched neither, and finally for a full rebrand when the business started to grow. The total was more than a proper identity would have cost in the first place — plus a year of looking inconsistent in front of customers.
Cheap is fine when cheap is all you need. Just make sure it is a decision, not an accident.
How we price it at Connecto
Our Brand Strategy & Identity work starts from ₦500,000 to ₦5,000,000, depending on scope. Every project follows the same four phases — Discovery, Strategy, Design and Delivery — and you can see exactly what each phase includes on our Pricing page.
We confirm your exact price in writing after a short introductory call, so you know the number before you commit to anything.
So, what should you pay?
Ask yourself three questions:
- What stage is the business? Pre-revenue and testing? A simple, clean identity is enough. Growing and raising? You need the system.
- How many places will the brand show up? One Instagram page needs less than a website, packaging, signage and a sales deck.
- What does inconsistency cost you? If customers compare you to well-branded competitors, looking improvised is a real price — it just never appears on an invoice.
If you are still unsure, that is exactly what a discovery call is for. Tell us what you are building and we will tell you honestly what scope makes sense — even if the answer is "not yet".
